4A's Dana Morin 18:50, Spencer Pecha 16:16 run fastest times

  • Class 2A - Wyoming Indian boys 12 over Saratoga 59; Saratoga girls 20 over Pine Bluffs 21
  • Class 3A - Newcastle boys 73 over Jackson Hole 75; Jackson Hole girls 51 over Powell 61
  • Class 4A - Campbell County boys 78 over Laramie 84; Cheyenne Central girls 59 over Sheridan 83
Class 2A Highlights
  • Caleb Her Many Horses (Wyoming Indian sr) finished first in 16:36.52 with teammate senior Slade Spoonhunter second in 17:00.99; the next competitor about one minute behind the duo
  • The Wyoming Indian boys, led by the 1-2 punch, were one point off a perfect score in the four-man scoring system to claim the team title over Saratoga 59
  • Hulett senior Jordan Wohlleber was in a race of her own, finishing a minute and twenty seconds ahead of the nearest competitor Shelby Hohnhoit (Saratoga jr)
  • Saratoga girls came out on top in a tight team battle with Pine Bluffs, 20 to 21
Class 3A Highlights
  • Jackson Hole senior Andy Phillips completed the 5k course in 16:56.86 with Newcastle sophomore Justin Wermers second in 17:07.09   
  • Newcastle boys pulled out a close win over Jackson Hole 73 to 75
  • Buffalo junior Delia Lyle crossed the line in a winning time of 20:07.09 with Cheyenne South freshman Melissa Bowlin second in a time of 20:24.25
  • Jackson Hole girls put three girls in the top ten for a score of 51 to claim the team title over Powell 61
Class 4A Highlights
  • Campbell County senior Spencer Pecha recorded the fastest time of the day with his 16:16.48, and second-place finisher Trevor Poison, also of Campbell County ran 16:25.65 for the second fastest time of the day distinction
  • The powerful 1-2 finish helped the Campbell County boys win the team title with 78 points over Laramie 84
  • In the most competitive girls race of the day, Sheridan senior Dana Morin claimed gold with her 18:50.18.  Teammate senior Lela Carpenter was not far behind in 19:06.82. Rock Springs senior Nicole Peterson finished third in 19:19.77, Jessica Lemaster (Cheyenne Central jr) fourth in 19:23.53 and Chelsea Carrick (Natrona County sr) rounded out the top five in 19:29.37
  • NW bubble team Cheyenne Central girls packed five runners in the top twenty for a team point total of 59 to beat out Sheridan 83, even with their 1-2 strong front finish
