Class AA Highlights
Matt Barker (Helena) finished first in a time of 15:46.06 to beat out Bozeman Jakob Woodland (15:53.32) for the individual state title
Bozeman boys average 16:16.65, scoring a total of 56 points to beat NW bubble team Flathead 89
NW#8 Bozeman girls run an 18:38.06 average, score 30 points to win team title over NW bubble teams Billings West 118 and Billings Senior 118
Heidi Turner (Bozeman) defends her title with the fastest time of the day in 17:59.68 to win the girls individual title over Billings Senior senior Alexa Aragon (18:05.73) and Butte senior Keli Dennehy (18:16.73). Billings West junior Nicole Rietz (18:20.38) and Bozeman Sierra Kamplain (18:21.31) round out the top 5 in the state's premier race.
Class A Highlights
Belgrade's Joey Vaughn (16:05.88) claimed the win by a small margin over Chris Jessop (Corvallis) who finished seconds behind in 16:07.86
Columbia Falls boys put three in the top five, scoring 64 points for the win over Browning 97
2008 state champion Fergus' Brook Rodgers crossed the line in 18:59.07 for first over runner-up Ralonda Wall (Browning) 19:07.31
NW bubble team Whitefish girls ran a 19:57.59 average and scored 59 points to claim the team title over Dawson County (74) and Fergus (91)
Class B Highlights
2008 state runner-up Mike Asay (Manhattan) returns much-improved to claim his state title with the fastest time of the day (15:23.44) over Jager Warner (Broadwater) 15:52.81
Manhattan boys also win after a second-place finish in 2008, beating runner-up Loyola Sacred Heart 90 to 118
Chiara Warner (Broadwater) ran 18:23.75 for a comfortable win over Sweet Grass County sophomore Selene Johnson (19:00.03)
Colstrip girls scored 71 points for the team title with second-place team Red Lodge totaled at 121
Class C Highlights
Ennis junior Gavin Owens crossed the line in a time of 15:33.77 for his runaway win over the field; Jimmy Martin (Dodson) finished second in 17:07.53
Culbertson boys beat Joliet in a fourth man tie breaker with both teams scoring just 30 points through three runners
Joliet junior Mackenzie O'Dore repeats her 2008 win in 18:43.06 for the individual title over Shannon Young (Harrison) 18:45.51
